Snow + Bad Driver = Scott in a Rental Car
Wednesday, February 7th, 2007Yesterday morning I was dropping off my old work laptop to be shipped back to corporate headquarters when I was the collidee in a collision. It was snowing pretty good and a woman in an SUV tried to move into my lane. The only problem being that’s where I was. She bumped me and then as she swerved, she lost control of her car and ended up hitting me again, pushing me over the curb. Satisfied with hitting me twice, she then proceeded to drive off.
I tried to follow her into a maze of apartment parking lots, but by the time I got back onto the road I’d lost her. The funny part of the story is that the police officer who came to write up the accident report mentioned he had seen me driving off the curb, back onto the street. He thought I’d lost control and slid off the road. Had he been there ten seconds sooner, he’d have seen the whole thing.
Other than a certain amount of annoyance, I’m fine.
